The Raw Edge Team Loves: Glastonbury 'Girls' Style Edit

The REB Team had major 'Glaston-envy' this time round... couldn't make it to this years festival, but boy were watching closely from the sidelines. Beyonce, first woman ever to headline Glasto, stunned her critics into silence by showing the rest of the world why she 'runs this mutha.." by her phenomenal all singing and all dancing set in HEELS!! Her performance rebirthed some good old 90s girl power spirit within the REB Team as she belted out bangers including 'say my name', 'irreplaceble' & her much loved new single here at REB HQ 'best thing I never had'...

Do It Yourself - The Friendship Bracelet

As a follow up to another favourite diy of mine - the bolt bracelet - I present the friendship bracelet. Very popular during my childhood and quickly picking up speed again, these bracelet are super easy to make. Pick up some colourful string at the dollarstore and start knotting away. I saw a really good step by step guide on Honestly WTF, you can check it out by clicking here.
.... and what my arms will look like by next week.
...and if you're feeling a bit lazy you can pick one up at H&M like I did. After seeing the tutorial though my hands are gonna be busy knotting from now on. Enjoy!

Artistic Spotlight: Dead Paper

Dead Paper is the latest project by Rebecca of the popular style blog The Clothes Horse. I've always loved Rebecca's blog for her great style, cool stop motion videos, and her awesome red hair. Her latest venture, Dead Paper, is a collection of collages made from vintage magazine cut outs that are both clever and creative! Click here to check out Dead Paper.

First Day of Summer

The young photographer Emily Bee continues to amaze me every time I take a look at her blog. Here are some of her beautiful photos in honor of International Go Skateboarding Day. Click here to feast your eyes to her impressive website or check out a previous TFP post about the talented photographer. Also, it's summer solstice today! If you're in Ottawa and you're looking for a way to celebrate this day, it's super simple. Go skate your heart out or go suntan by the canal (while always protecting your skin with sunscreen!) Then head on over to The Standard on Elgin st. for an after-party full of ska and reggae beats brought to you by DJ ACRO. What better way to celebrate the arrival of summertime?

Street Style Spotlight: Dam Style

Earlier this year, I spent a weekend in Amsterdam and was instantly enamoured with the unique and effortless style of the people there. There was something really refreshing about seeing people dressed stylishly but not obviously trendy. When I returned from Amsterdam I scoured the Internet hoping I could keep the inspiration coming and I came across Dam Style. Dam Style features some of the best of Amsterdam street style, capturing great snapshots of well dressed Amsterdamians season after season.

One thing that makes Dam Style stand out amongst other blogs is the fact that it showcases people of all ages with really ecclectic styles rather than just the latest trends. Their unique approach and hard work is paying off as Dam Style was recently listed on Elle.com's Global Street Style feature. Click here to check out Dam Style and get inspired by the fashionable people of Amsterdam.
